It’s the VIP, developed by Swiss company CSEM. VIP stands for Vision-In-Package. The optical sensor chip is 0.8mm across and sits on a package containing its own processor performing tasks like image compression and error correction. The package is smaller than a stock cube and even has its own Bluetooth transmitter. Being self-contained and low power, it’s aimed at a broad range of applications from robotic surgery to drones.
